Kristen Aggers brings 18 years of experience to competitive dressage, successfully showing horses through the Grand Prix level. She currently holds her USDF Bronze and Silver medals. While attending the University of Colorado and earning a bachelor of science as well as a master of science in information systems, she also found time to compete on the CU Barrel Racing Team and IHSA hunter/jumper team. These experiences have provided Kristen with a well-rounded approach to horse training.

In April, 2004, Kristen brought her skills as a proven rider and trainer to Santa Rosa, California, where she is currently working. Kristen has won numerous year end and high point awards on her own horses as well as on client horses. Despite her successes, Kristen believes that continuing education is a key component to her riding. Kristen regularly rides with Lilo Fore and Sue Halasz, in addition to participating in clinics with Konrad Schumaker and Axel Steiner.

Kristen's Training Philosophy

I believe that my job as a trainer is to help create a successful partnership between horse and rider. It is important to base a training program on the rider's ambition combined with the capabilities of the horse. Establishing a goal oriented training program enables the rider to achieve their objectives in a sound, positive environment. In my lessons I adjust the pyramid (rhythm, suppleness, contact, straightness, impulsion and collection) to the level and capabilities of the rider and horse. I feel that for training to progress it is essential that the rider's aids are not only correct, but also effective. Using a consistent method will help create the best relationship and accord between horse and rider.
